Challenger Unit - Rendez Vous With a Comet

The GATE students will now be preparing to become astronauts for our next unit.  The students will be visiting the Challenger Learning Center in Hammond, Indiana in May to participate in the mission “Rendez-Vous With a Comet”.  Our training will include the understanding of their Learning Style and their learning strengths and weaknesses. It will also be necessary for the students to learn detailed background information about comets and key vocabulary words. We will concentrate and develop written and oral communications skills through activities based on listening and following direction skills. Permission slips and additional information regarding this “out of this world” field trip will be sent home in April.
